UL 891 switchboards

Built for speed, reliability, and technical precision in mission critical infrastructure.

Quality isn't one feature. It's hundreds of decisions.

The difference is in HOW WE BUILD

Every detail matters. Every project benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about UL 891 switchboards, specifications, and lead times.

What amperage ratings are available?

PowerStream manufactures UL 891 switchboards from 400A to 5000A with MTZ and R-frame configurations. Standard and high-density footprints accommodate both compact installations and applications requiring maximum bus capacity. NEMA 3R enclosures are available for outdoor or harsh environments.

How long is the typical lead time?

Standard engineer-to-order lead time starts at six weeks from order to factory test completion. This timeline accounts for application-driven engineering, in-house copper fabrication, and full factory testing before shipment. We lock in each job’s production schedule and place orders with our suppliers for any necessary components the day the purchase order is received. Expedited schedules are evaluated on a project-by-project basis.

Are your switchboards UL listed?

Yes. All UL 891 switchboards are UL listed and manufactured to meet UL 891 standards. PowerStream maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification, Seismic, and EcoXpert Power Master Distribution certification. Every unit is factory tested before leaving our facility.

Can you handle custom configurations?

Custom configurations are standard practice at PowerStream. Our engineering team designs each switchboard around your specific application, voltage, amperage, and environmental requirements. In-house copper fabrication gives us flexibility that larger manufacturers cannot match.

What makes your manufacturing different?

PowerStream combines vertically integrated manufacturing, application-driven engineering, and disciplined production planning to deliver speed, quality, and flexibility that traditional manufacturers often struggle to match. Our hub-and-spoke manufacturing model allows production capacity to scale in weeks rather than years, while our in-house fabrication, powder coating, assembly, and testing capabilities provide greater control over quality, lead times, and design changes. We don't force customers into catalog limitations, we build solutions around their application and execute with predictable, on-time delivery.

How fast can I get drawings and a quote?

Quotes, bills of materials, and drawing packages are returned in 24 to 48 hours. A senior engineer reviews every request, so the drawings you receive are accurate and ready for your submittal process.
